RESUMO:
O projeto TOPAS2 tem como objetivo principal desenvolver peças otimizadas em espessura para estruturas dos setores aeroespacial e ferroviário. Na indústria europeia aeroespacial e ferroviária os componentes estruturais submetidos a grandes cargas requerem um alto nível de maquinação. No caso de componentes de geometria altamente complexa, mais de 90% da matéria-prima pode ser perdida como resíduo ou sucata deste processo.
O projeto TOPAS2 envolve, pelas razões apresentadas, o desenvolvimento de processos, materiais e produtos com maior valor acrescentado para a indústria, em detrimento de processos de fabrico baseados em soluções de maquinação, que acarretam elevados consumos de recursos energéticos e de materiais. Consequentemente, conseguir-se-á um uso mais eficiente e mais verde de recursos energéticos e materiais.
A adaptação, desenvolvimento e otimização destas tecnologias de fabrico a estruturas complexas, a investigação de parâmetros otimizados para fabrico e a combinação melhorada dos vários processos de fabrico na cadeia de valor fazem parte do trabalho de investigação do presente projeto, desenvolvido à escala europeia segundo a iniciativa Smart EUREKA. Estima-se que estas operações combinadas de fabrico conduzam a um rácio Buy-to-Fly de até 95% ou, por outras palavras, a um teor de sucata extremamente reduzido.
RESULTADOS:
O projeto TOPAS2 está dividido em 7 atividades:
- Investigação e avaliação metalúrgica na cadeia de processos de fabrico
- Investigação de laminagem de tailored blanks e soldadura de materiais dissimilares
- Desenvolvimento de produtos por enformação 3D e dobragem
- Fabrico aditivo com fio e arco elétrico aos produtos fabricados por enformação 3D e dobragem
- Processamento final dos produtos fabricados
- Promoção, divulgação e valorização dos resultados
- Gestão do projeto
O projeto foca-se na combinação e otimização de vários processos tecnológicos de fabrico, para produção de componentes complexos a aplicar em estruturas aeroespaciais, sem recurso a operações massivas de maquinação. Com a seleção de métodos de fabrico alternativos aos convencionais conseguir-se-á uma grande redução de utilização de recursos e custos de fabrico, estimando-se um rácio Buy-to-Fly de até 95%.
O projeto irá contribuir para a prestação de novos serviços avançados de mercado com forte intensidade em conhecimento já que reforça a transferência de conhecimento científico e tecnológico para o setor económico, possibilitando assim a criação de serviços de elevado valor acrescentado que contribuirão para uma indústria mais eficiente.
